An extruder is a plastic molding equipment. Mainly used for various extruded plastic products, such as PE, PP, PVC, ABS, etc. The high temperature generated during the production process will cause difficulty in demoulding and slow molding, so a cooling water system (pool, cooling tower, chiller) is required. When the temperature of the chiller is too high, it may be caused by a variety of reasons, which need to be systematically checked and handled. The following are common reasons and solutions for reference:
Insufficient cooling water flow

Possible reasons: water pump failure, pipe blockage, dirty filter blockage, valve not fully open.

Solution:

Check whether the water pump is operating normally (listen for abnormal sounds, measure current).

Clean impurities in the filter or pipe.

Confirm that the valve is fully open.

Insufficient or leaking refrigerant

Possible reasons: System leakage leads to reduced refrigerant and reduced cooling efficiency.

Solution:

Check the pressure gauge. If the pressure on the low-pressure side is too low, check the leak and add refrigerant (professional operation is required).

Poor heat dissipation of the condenser

Possible reasons:

Air-cooled: dust accumulation on the condenser fins, fan failure or poor environmental ventilation.

Water-cooled: low cooling tower efficiency and poor water quality lead to scaling.

Solution:

Clean the condenser fins or cooling tower fillers.

Check whether the fan/water pump is normal and improve the ventilation environment.

Water-cooled type needs to be descaled or replaced regularly.

Compressor overload or failure

Possible reasons: unstable power supply voltage, compressor wear, insufficient lubricating oil.

Solution:

Check whether the voltage is stable and adjust the power supply line.

Listen for abnormal noise from the compressor and measure whether the operating current exceeds the limit.

Contact the manufacturer to repair or replace the compressor.

Ambient temperature is too high

Possible reasons: poor ventilation at the installation location of the chiller or the ambient temperature exceeds the design range.

Solution:

Add exhaust fans or adjust the location of the equipment to ensure heat dissipation space.

In high temperature environments, awnings or temporary cooling equipment can be installed.

Control system failure
